Mission

The mission of the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute Foundation as adopted by the Board of Trustees is as follows:

The Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute Foundation works to advance the cause of eye care for all people.  Principally, the Foundation provides voluntary service and funding to support the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute and its mission of research, education, clinical care and service.

The Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) corporation governed by a Board of Trustees with elected representation from each district of the Lions of Colorado and Wyoming. The Foundation works in collaboration with Lions Clubs throughout the two states to support its program and funding needs.

The first step in achieving our mission was to raise $6 million in funding to establish the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute.  Having accomplished that, we continue to achieve our mission by:

- Making the sight-saving services of the Eye Institute available to those in Colorado and Wyoming with financial need;

-Supporting the Eye Institute's future needs for new equipment and capital improvements;

-Providing financial assistance to the Eye Institute's Low Vision Rehabilitation Service to support its operation and make Iife-­enhancing low vision devices available to its patients with financial need; and

- Offering volunteer service at the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute to assist patients in accessingits services.
